Area F2 has been shut down by developer Ejoy immediately at Ubisoft's request, and has been completely wiped from all storefronts. Ubisoft then took both companies, Ejoy, and its parent company, to court.īut now, almost a week later, the fiasco appears to be over. "In fact, the games are so similar that an ordinary observer viewing and playing both games likely would be unable to differentiate between them." The lawsuit from Ubisoft actually came about because both Apple and Google refused to remove Area F2 from their storefronts at Ubisoft's request, for some unknown reason.
"Virtually every aspect of AF2 is copied from R6S," a court document filed by Ubisoft reads.
Last week, Ubisoft announced that they were suing four companies: Apple, Google, Ejoy, and Ejoy's parent company, Alibaba. The game has been delisted on both Apple and Google storefronts, but you can apply for your refund through F2's developer, Ejoy, directly. If you've spent any money on Area F2, you can apply for a refund. This was over a game called Area F2, an alleged "near carbon copy" of their game Rainbow Six Siege, which the latter two companies were promoting on their storefronts.
